East or West Las Vegas?
This is a debate locals are happy to have, between Henderson in the Southeast and Summerlin in the Northeast, but there are also other neighborhoods in Las Vegas well worth investigating. You’ll find homes to fit all budgets in these areas, from condos for around $150,000, to multiple-million-dollar mansions, so you won’t find your budget restricts your location more than can be expected.
There are also other places, outside of Henderson and Summerlin, which make great places to live all throughout the Vegas Valley.
Living in Henderson
Henderson is in a master planned community, which means it has all the amenities you’ll need right on your doorstep and is only minutes away from the famous strip. A vibrant desert town, it’s Nevada’s second-largest city and is known for having the perfect mix of a small-town feel with big-city amenities.
Henderson has a population of just over 300,000, all of whom have a park within walking distance of their home. There are 64 parks and over 180 miles of trails to explore, so if you love getting outdoors and hiking, this is a perfect starting point.
Henderson was ranked as the second safest city to raise a family in by Forbes in 2017, thanks to the amenities and good schools. Most residents in Henderson own their own homes, and you’ll likely find you can get a lot of house (or condo) for your money, here.
